As we bid farewell to the beautiful scenery of Lake Como, we embarked on a road trip through Italy's picturesque countryside. Our first stop was the city of Parma, where we marveled at the stunning cathedral built over 900 years ago.

In the early afternoon, we arrived in the lively city of Bologna and checked into the I Portici Hotel, which was conveniently located near the city center and train station. Eager to explore, we set out on foot to explore the city's bustling Via de Indepencia, which led us to the magnificent Neptune Fountain in the main square. We were awed by the grandeur of the Basilica Di San Petronilo and indulged in a delectable snack of ham, cheese, and wine at Restaurant Simone.
A Night in Bologna:
As the evening approached, we settled in a square near the Neptune Fountain at Nicola Pizzeria Ristorante, savoring delicious pizza and Italian wine while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of Bologna.

The next morning, we returned to the Basilica Di San Petronilo and climbed to the rooftop terrace for breathtaking views of the city. We then visited the Museum and University of Bologna, marveling at the impressive anatomical theatre and richly decorated library. We also explored the historic Archiginnasio of Bologna and admired the coats of arms of former students carved into the walls.
Food Culture in Bologna:
No trip to Bologna is complete without indulging in the local cuisine, and we couldn't resist the mouthwatering aromas emanating from the Mercato di Mezzo. We sampled the fresh pasta, cheeses, meats, and wines, relishing the flavors of traditional dishes such as tortellini in brodo and tagliatelle al ragù.
