North Italy is a treasure trove of beautiful destinations, and we were lucky enough to embark on a 10-day road trip to explore this stunning region. Our journey began with a flight from Atlanta, GA to Frankfurt, Germany, before finally landing in Milan airport Linate. From there, we picked up our rental car from Budget and headed straight to The Regency Hotel in Lissone, Milan.
After a good night's rest, we were ready to hit the road and head towards our first stop - the picturesque Lake Como. The drive was nothing short of stunning, with the last 30 minutes offering breathtaking views of the lake. Upon arrival, we checked in at Hotel Villa La Mirabelle in Cadenabbia/Griante.

Our first afternoon was spent taking a ferry ride to the charming town of Bellagio. The thirty-minute ride was an experience in itself, with the beautiful lake views leaving us awestruck. The town itself was a delight to explore, with small narrow streets and plenty of stairs to climb. We indulged in some delicious ice cream and gelato and spent a good three hours taking in the sights and sounds of Bellagio.
As evening descended, we made our way back to Griante for a delectable Italian dinner at the hotel. The views of the lake were simply breathtaking, and the sunset painted the sky with hues of orange and pink. To cap off the perfect day, we walked to the grand hotel Tremezzo for a beautiful glass of red wine. The moon shone brightly, casting its reflection on the lake with Bellagio in the background - truly a sight to behold.
Our first day in North Italy was an incredible experience that set the tone for the rest of our trip. The stunning natural beauty, the quaint towns, the delicious food and wine - it was all just the beginning of what turned out to be a memorable journey. Stay tuned for more!
