Get ready to be amazed - Internet of Things / IoT or IIoT

Updated: Mar 17, 2023

Take it easy - IoT explained for all.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is like having a personal assistant who knows everything about your home. Imagine your alarm clock not just waking you up, but also turning on your coffee maker and adjusting the thermostat to the perfect temperature. Your fridge could notify you when you're running low on milk, and your lights could automatically turn off when you leave a room. You could even control your entire home from your phone while you're away. With IoT, the possibilities are endless, and the convenience is unbeatable. So sit back, relax, and let your devices do the work for you.

Check out an example and benefit for the business with IoT

One of the most significant applications of IoT in the industry is predictive maintenance. In the past, manufacturing plants would perform routine maintenance on their equipment, whether it was necessary or not, to avoid unexpected breakdowns. With IoT, sensors can be placed on machines to monitor their performance, collecting data on factors such as temperature, pressure, and vibration. This data is then analyzed using machine learning algorithms to identify patterns that indicate potential problems. Maintenance teams can then be alerted to perform maintenance on the machine before a breakdown occurs, saving time and money. For example, General Electric implemented an IoT system in its jet engines, which monitors the engines in real-time and sends data to a centralized system for analysis. This system allows GE to identify potential issues before they become major problems, leading to reduced downtime and increased efficiency.
