We started our second day in Lake Como with a beautiful morning and an excellent breakfast at Villa Mirabelle. With a spectacular view of the lake and Bellagio in the distance, it was the perfect start to the day.
Our first stop of the day was Varenna, a super nice little town that we reached by taking a 20-minute ferry ride from Menaggio. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets and charming squares of Varenna. The highlight was climbing the stairs to the main square, which offered breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. We also explored the small restaurants and cafes in the square, perfect for a lunch stop.
After Varenna, we made our way to Villa Carlotta, a magnificent villa and museum situated right on the lake in Griante. The gardens surrounding the villa were stunning, filled with exotic plants and flowers. The museum itself was a must-see, filled with art and artifacts that showcased the history and culture of the region.
In the evening, we returned to our hotel in Griante, Hotel La Perla. Nestled in the mountains, it offered panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding countryside. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring.
As the sun began to set, we found ourselves craving some delicious Italian cuisine. We decided to head back to Menaggio for dinner at Victoria, a cozy restaurant known for their classic dishes. While enjoying our meal, we were delighted to hear the sound of a piano playing soulful melodies in the main square. It was the perfect background music for a relaxing evening of great food and company. We savored every bite of our meal, enjoying the lovely ambiance and the stunning views of the lake. It was a wonderful end to another amazing day in Lake Como.
